This is the report from NEW Missions near Leogane, Haiti. This mission was my home for the year I lived in Haiti. Before the earthquake, it was a peaceful oasis in the middle of a broken land. Our prayers are that it will be restored in supernatural time! I have the link for NEW Missions listed on my page. If you feel led to give a one time donation or feel called to sponsor one of their 9,000 students...let Him lead you!
"Today, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 marks one week since the earthquake hit Haiti. Today, the Navy and Marines are delivering amphibious relief of food to New Missions. Our Haitian leadership at the mission is mobilized for distribution and ground support. This morning Jeanne DeTellis and George DeTellis, Jr. recorded videos for our sponsors and churches regarding our rebuilding efforts and the urgency of each person's involvement.
In one week Charlie DeTellis returns to Haiti with a select team of highly skilled construction team for the phase 1 of our rebuild. School will be operational this month at New Missions. Our 22 Churches are already meeting. We will erect temporary buildings fast. Then, we will be begin to build more secure facilities. Since our priority is to serve the over 9,000 children in our schools and their families.
Thankfully, all across the Leogane Plain, in our 22 locations there are wells all running and providing much needed safe drinking water.
We have been serving in Haiti long before most people knew where it was on a map. Together, with your help, we will rebuild strong and also reach out to more children.
As a child sponsor, please know that your child is safe and alive. You would have been contacted from our Orlando office if there was any specific news on your child. God truly spared those in our area.
Now we must unite. We need you, the Haitian people need you, more than ever.
Serving together,
Timothy DeTellis"
