I have been anxiously awaiting news from a dear friend, Malou. She served as a missionary at NEW Missions in 1993 with me. She lived there after I left and eventually landed in the Dominican Republic where she serves Haitian refugees. She is Haitian American and grew up in the USA. She attended David Wilkerson's Times Square Church for many years. Malou is a true missionary, she gets into the thick of things with the people she serves, she lives modestly and is a prayer warrior unlike any other I've ever met. She is Jesus with skin on. Fluent in English, Spanish, French and Creole, the Lord has been using her mightily over the past weeks to translate for doctors and other relief workers. Her heart is breaking for her people, anguished over the depth of sorrow and destruction they will face for years to come...
"No matter how dire is the material need of the Haitians , their spiritual need is greater. All of the survivors have been crying out for prayer. They are eager to tell the story of how our Good God has saved their lives . However I believe that many governments can come together to rebuild that nation but without a change of heart it will be useless. There is no doubt that God’s purposes for Haiti will be fulfilled , maybe one of them is to improve the so-so relationship between the two nations of the island : their very first help came from the Dominicans. The Dominican president was the first one to visit our neighbors and in the midst of this chaos , he organized the aids coming from other countries and open his own home to provide a three day rest to his Haitian colleague. The love and care that the Haitian people received from the Dominican people is unforgettable. From every corner of the Dominican Republic came food, water, medicine, oxygen,
eyes full of tears and sadness , a friendly hand to our neighbors. However the nation of Haiti pursue its destiny, no matter what’s going on GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL."--Malou
Add your prayers to mine for Malou and the thousands of others who are serving in Haiti. Please, do not forget Haiti!!
